SmartSuite Raises $38 Million to Be the Final Word on Enterprise Collaboration
Enterprise collaboration platform SmartSuite has secured a significant investment of $38 million in its quest to simplify and integrate various software tools used by businesses. The funding, which brings the total amount raised to date to $60 million, will be used to accelerate growth, expand the company’s marketing efforts, and build out its sales team.
In an interview, SmartSuite CEO Darbyshire emphasized that the platform aims to eliminate complexity in inherently complex processes such as Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), which are crucial for financial institutions. He noted that customers have been using SmartSuite in different ways, with some running all of their software through it while others manage specific workflows like cybersecurity, risk, and compliance or recruiting and staffing.
SmartSuite will utilize the funds to recruit new team members. Interestingly, all of the startup’s growth to date has been achieved without a single marketing hire. The company plans to hire a formal marketing team now that it has secured the funding. Darbyshire also highlighted that there are about 600 YouTube video content created by partners covering various integrations and uses.
SmartSuite is built on Amazon Web Services (AWS) as its cloud provider for all documents and other work run on its platform, ensuring a closed-loop system.
