Zhelezov’s professional journey began as a backend Java developer at DataArt from 2007 to 2008, where he honed his skills in building complex web and pharmaceutical applications. This technical foundation served as the bedrock for his subsequent work in finance and blockchain development.
In 2016, Zhelezov entered the blockchain industry by joining Purple Scout as a Full Stack Developer. During this period, he also worked briefly as a Trading Analyst at Kapital Trading, thereby acquiring crucial knowledge on financial systems and markets. These experiences enabled him to bridge his technical expertise with the rapidly evolving blockchain landscape.
His tenure at Helix Cognitive Computing GmbH from 2018 to 2020 allowed Zhelezov to build a network messaging system without a central point, marking a turning point in his career as he delved deeper into decentralized systems. This experience further fueled his interest in creating innovative tools for blockchain data management.
From 2020 to 2021, he worked as Hydra Core Developer at Jsgenesis, where he developed a cutting-edge system allowing the gathering and organization of blockchain data in real-time, a crucial capability for Web3 applications.
Zhelezov co-founded SQD (previously known as Subsquid) in May 2021. As CEO, he spearheads the creation of decentralized tools that empower Web3 developers to effortlessly access and manage blockchain data. At SQD, Zhelezov is working tirelessly to replace centralised RPC (Remote Procedure Call) systems – which allow apps to request data or services from a server – with open-source options.
