‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Soundtrack Taking Over Streaming & Charts ×
Chart-topping debut marks significant milestone in a short period of time, as music world reacts to the film’s release.
In what appears to be an unprecedented and unignorable rise, the soundtrack to KPop Demon Hunters has not only reached the coveted No. 8 spot on the Billboard 200, but is now poised to continue its ascent up the charts. The extraordinary trajectory of this score underscores the massive impact of the Netflix original animated film.
Since its release on June 20th, the album has been met with a torrential response, prompting concerns about the potential for cultural saturation. In spite of criticism or even outright disdain from some quarters, the soundtrack is currently trending upward at an astonishing rate. This week alone saw KPop Demon Hunters’ musical contributions more than triple its total on-demand U.S. streams to 42.8 million, and that’s only halfway into the weekend.
The current chart success comes as Huntr/x members Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, all accomplished singers in their own right, have lent their vocal talents to the project. Furthermore, TWICE lends their expertise with multiple appearances on the album.
