UFC Fight Night Vegas 103: Fighters Desperate For A Win To Avoid Release
The upcoming UFC event, set to take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on March 1, has taken a drastic turn for some fighters. The stakes are higher than ever before as six competitors face off in a desperate bid to avoid release from the organization.
At the top of the list is Cody Brundage, a middleweight who needs a win to prove his worth. His last victory dates back to 2021, and a loss to Julian Marquez would severely damage his prospects. The 31-year-old’s current record stands at 11-6 overall and 3-5 in the UFC.
Another fighter in a precarious position is Andrea Lee, who has been on a five-fight losing streak since November 2021. As a 36-year-old flyweight, she knows all too well that such a lengthy skid would likely result in her being cut from the roster.
Austen Lane, 37, finds himself in an equally dire situation. Despite winning his most recent bout, he has lost two fights in a row and was once on a three-fight winless streak. A defeat to Mario Pinto could lead to him losing his spot on the team.
Montana De La Rosa’s current standing as a 30-year-old with a 13-9-1 record doesn’t bode well for her future if she fails to secure a victory against Luana Carolina, who is currently riding a three-fight winning streak. De La Rosa’s double-digit losses would put a significant strain on her UFC tenure.
The card, set to start at 4 p.m. ET on March 1, features the following matchups:
