Vivo V50 Review: Mid-Ranger Great For Street Photography
As we await the release of Vivo’s flagship X200 Ultra, the company has quietly dropped a new mid-range offering, the Vivo V50. While it may not be as flashy or attention-grabbing as its high-end counterparts, this affordable device packs a punch in terms of its photographic capabilities.
In fact, the Vivo V50 is a street photographer’s dream come true. With its impressive dual 50-megapixel camera setup, paired with exceptional processing power courtesy of Zeiss collaboration, I was blown away by the quality of shots produced by this mid-range device. The fast shutter speed and atmospheric color tuning result in images that are not only stunning but also possess a unique film-like aesthetic.
The phone’s ability to capture high-quality portraits is particularly noteworthy. The Vivo V50’s camera prowess is reminiscent of its flagship brethren, making it an excellent choice for those looking to upgrade from an older model or make the switch from another brand.
Of course, there are some compromises that need to be made when it comes to this device. While the software experience is perfectly functional, I do feel that it looks a bit dated compared to Vivo’s OriginOS, which is unfortunately only available in China. Additionally, the generative edit capabilities leave something to be desired, falling short of what we see from competitors like Oppo and Samsung.
However, for the price point (around $400-$450), this device truly punches above its weight class. It’s clear that Vivo has honed their skills in camera processing, making this a must-have for anyone looking to capture stunning street photography.
In conclusion, the Vivo V50 is an excellent mid-range option that should not be overlooked by those seeking a reliable and capable camera phone.
