Fall Out Boy’s Joe Trohman Steps Away From Touring for Hand Surgery
According to a recent statement from the band, guitarist Joe Trohman will be stepping away from touring with Fall Out Boy for the remainder of 2025. The announcement comes as a surprise to fans, as the band has been consistently busy with tour dates throughout the year.
The reason behind Trohman’s departure from the stage is due to his ongoing issues with his right hand, which have forced him to undergo surgery in order to avoid permanent damage. In an attempt to reassure worried fans, the guitarist shared a heartfelt message stating that he will make a full recovery and return to touring in 2026.
While the news may come as a shock to fans, Fall Out Boy has assured that their scheduled tour dates will continue uninterrupted, with no replacement announced for Trohman’s absence. The band has been busy with numerous performances at festivals such as Cowboys Music Festival in Calgary (July 8), Minnesota Yacht Club festival in St. Paul (July 19), and a stint at Summer Sonic in Japan on August 16-17.
It is unclear who will take his place for the time being, but fans are encouraged to keep an eye out for further updates from the band regarding this situation.
