Rock Music Fans Rejoice as The Rapture Announces 26-City North American Tour
After over a decade-long hiatus, iconic dance-punk band The Rapture is set to embark on its first headlining tour in 15 years. The highly anticipated trek will kick off on September 16th at the First Avenue in Minneapolis and make stops across North America before crossing the pond for select dates in the United Kingdom and Europe.
The Rapture, formed by guitarist-vocalist Luke Jenner in 1998, rose to fame with its critically acclaimed album Echoes in 2003. The group’s subsequent releases, Pieces of the People We Love (2006) and In the Grace of Your Love (2011), further solidified their position as a driving force within the indie rock scene.
Luke Jenner, the band’s creative mastermind, has been transparent about his personal struggles that led to the hiatus. “Years ago when I stepped away from the band, I was needing time and space to piece together my life,” he explained in a statement released by Billboard. “I needed to fix my marriage, be there for my son and ultimately work on myself.”
It’s clear that Jenner has emerged stronger and wiser, as he now aims to use The Rapture’s music as a means of giving back. “This tour marks a new chapter for me, one shaped by everything I’ve lived through and learned along the way,” he added.
Pre-sale tickets for the upcoming tour will become available on July 9th, allowing fans to get their hands on the highly coveted seats before they go on public sale. For those eager to secure access, the exclusive pre-sale window offers an unparalleled opportunity to experience one of rock’s most beloved acts live.
