Dungeons & Dragons‘ First Adventures for the New Edition Are Literally Dragons in Dungeons
This summer, Wizards of the Coast will be releasing Dragon Delves, a new book that promises to bring back the classic feel of Dungeons & Dragons’ earliest adventures. And by “classic,” I mean literally filled with dragons. Like, a lot of dragons.
According to a press release, Dragon Delves is unlike any other book released in the 50-year history of D&D, providing fans with 10 short adventures centered around each of the 10 iconic chromatic and metallic dragons within the game. This means that players will get to explore a variety of dungeons while battling a wide range of dragon species.
Each of these adventures has been designed to be easy to pick up and play, showcasing just how simple it is for Dungeon Masters (DMs) to create their own unique experiences. The release of Dragon Delves marks an exciting new era in the world of tabletop gaming, as players will have access to a wealth of ready-made content that can be easily integrated into existing campaigns.
In addition to the sheer volume of dragon-based adventures, Dragon Delves also promises to bring back some nostalgic elements that fans of the game have been missing. The book’s press release hints at a focus on classic gameplay mechanics and storytelling techniques that made early editions of D&D so beloved.
It remains to be seen what this new direction will mean for the future of Dungeons & Dragons, but one thing is certain: fans are going to love getting their hands on Dragon Delves when it drops later this summer.
