Bridgetown Research raises $19M to speed up due diligence with AI
Due diligence is a costly and time-consuming process, especially for companies looking to launch new products or explore partnerships. In an effort to streamline this process, Bridgetown Research has raised $19 million in a Series A round co-led by Accel and Lightspeed.
The startup was founded in December 2023 by CEO Harsh Sahai, a former McKinsey employee and research scientist at Amazon. Bridgetown Research claims it can significantly reduce the time and cost associated with due diligence by using AI agents that gather information, collate data, and present findings in an easy-to-read format.
According to Sahai, the company’s approach differs from existing solutions as it leverages networks of industry experts who provide insights on a particular company or sector. By partnering with these expert networks, Bridgetown Research enables clients to gain access to reliable information that can aid decision-making.
The startup already has a dozen customers in the US and two in the UK, including top-tier private equity and venture capital funds, consulting firms, and major corporations focused on M&A pipelines.
While other startups such as Mako AI and DiligentIQ have attempted to tackle this issue, Sahai believes that Bridgetown Research offers a more comprehensive solution.
