Figma Link ‘Tears of the Kingdom’ Toy Review: Just Astonishingly Good
I recently had the pleasure of reviewing a new action figure from Good Smile Company, specifically the figma release based on the popular game Tears of the Kingdom. I must say, this new addition to their lineup is truly astounding.
As someone who has reviewed numerous Zelda-related figmas in the past, including Skyward Sword and other iterations, I can confidently say that this one takes the cake. The level of detail and advanced sculpture that Good Smile Company has achieved here is genuinely astonishing.
One of the most impressive aspects of this figma is the sheer amount of attention to detail given to the sculpt itself. The detailing and finesse are remarkably high-end for a figure of its size, which can be attributed to the advancements in their sculpting techniques over the years. It’s not that this figma is undersized; it’s actually on par with other recent releases, but it has significantly more detail and intricate aspects to its design.
The articulation on this figma is also top-notch, allowing for a wide range of poses and movements. From the new armor and chain mail to the various accessories included, everything is remarkably accurate to the game. The DX release I got my hands on comes with extra weapons and additional gear, making it an even more impressive package.
As you’d expect from any figma release, the articulation holds up well without the stand (which is still included), and the accessories are plentiful. The facial expressions and interchangeable hands add a level of customization that makes this figure truly exceptional. Even Link’s new ponytail is articulated, demonstrating the level of care given to every aspect of this creation.
If you’re a fan of Tears of the Kingdom or simply an enthusiast of quality action figures, then I highly recommend this figma. In fact, it may be my favorite iteration yet, narrowly edging out Skyward Sword’s design more than the figma itself. The other upcoming releases featuring Zelda and Ganondorf are certainly exciting, but for now, Link is where your attention should be focused.
This impressive figma of Link from Tears of the Kingdom can be purchased on the Good Smile Company online shop for 16,800 yen (approximately $112 as of my writing).
