Mark Zuckerberg Interview Derailed After His Audio Doesn’t Work
The debut episode of The Information’s video podcast, TITV, was dealt a significant blow yesterday when the interview with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg had to be abruptly terminated due to technical issues. According to sources familiar with the situation, Zuckerberg appeared for the scheduled chat with The Information’s editor-in-chief Jessica Lessin, but unfortunately, his audio equipment malfunctioned.
In a cringe-worthy moment, both Zuckerberg and Lessin were visibly smiling and engaging in conversation, yet not a single word was audible to listeners. It is reported that after approximately 2-3 minutes of awkward silence, the podcast’s host Akash Pasricha had to intervene, declaring “I don’t think we have sound” before calling it a day.
This unfortunate turn of events marks an unceremonious start for TITV, which was touted as The Information’s answer to the influential daily tech news show TBPN. Given the hefty price tag of $40 per month for access to exclusive insights and analysis, one would expect a certain level of quality control in their live video podcast.
While some might find it amusing that Zuckerberg’s audio equipment failed, his recent announcements suggest he should be focusing on more pressing matters. The Meta CEO has been busy with efforts to improve the company’s AI capabilities, including the launch of a new “superintelligence lab” and plans to construct multiple multi-gigawatt data centers. Additionally, there are reports that the corporation is considering shifting its approach from open-source to closed-source programming.
In related news, Bloomberg reported yesterday that OpenAI has put on hold its highly anticipated AI model release due to unforeseen issues.
