Universal Music New Zealand has announced leadership changes, following the retirement of its managing director, Adam Holt.
According to a statement by the company, Holt will be stepping down from his role after a successful tenure that has seen significant growth and innovation in the music industry. The executive’s departure marks a major shift for the organization, which is one of the largest record labels in the country.
Under Holt’s leadership, Universal Music New Zealand has achieved remarkable milestones, including driving excellence and innovation for its artists, both locally and globally. His commitment to fostering creativity and nurturing talent has earned him immense respect within the industry.
In his farewell statement, Holt expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve as MD and praised the team’s dedication and hard work in making Universal Music New Zealand a benchmark for success.
“I’m beyond excited to be a part of the best team in the country and to continue driving excellence and innovation for our artists in New Zealand, and around the world,” he said.
The company has announced that Matt Kidd will take over as Managing Director, succeeding Holt. Kidd brings extensive experience in the music industry, having held various leadership positions throughout his career.
“We are thrilled to have Matt on board to lead our team forward. His expertise and passion for the music business make him an ideal candidate to build upon Adam’s incredible legacy,” said a Universal Music New Zealand spokesperson.
The new MD has promised to continue fostering creativity and innovation while ensuring the company remains committed to its artists’ success.
“It’s an honor to take on this role, and I’m committed to maintaining the high standards set by Adam during his tenure. Our team is dedicated to driving growth and excellence for our artists, and I’m excited to be a part of it,” Kidd stated.
The sudden change in leadership comes as Universal Music New Zealand continues to push boundaries and adapt to an ever-evolving music landscape.
