Title: Top Ripple Critic Says XRP Is Not a Security
The top critic of Ripple and its token XRP has recently made a bold statement about the asset’s nature. In a shocking turn of events, the critic, David Rochard, claims that XRP is not a security.
Rochard, known for his harsh criticism of Ripple and the company’s financial actions, said in an interview that Ripple does not owe investors anything tangible or valuable apart from “nothing” and “air.” He added that the enterprise blockchain company has no obligation to provide any utility to its investors.
“You can’t say that we’re going to give you something of value. No, you’re not going to get anything of value because they don’t have it,” Rochard stated. “They are free to dump on you and you have no right to do anything about it other than join them in dumping XRP. That’s why XRP is not a security.”
Rochard also highlighted that there are many worthless and harmful products out there that do not fall under the definition of a security.
This statement comes as a surprise, given Rochard’s past criticisms of Ripple and XRP. However, his views align with a previous ruling by Judge Analisa Torres in 2023, which declared that secondary sales of Ripple-linked tokens were not securities.
As a result of this statement, many cryptocurrency enthusiasts are now left wondering about the implications on the broader market.
