Tata Technologies’ Data Leaked by Ransomware Gang
Indian-based company Tata Technologies has been a victim of a ransomware attack, with the attackers claiming to have stolen over 730,000 documents. The leaked data includes personal information about some current and former employees, as well as confidential business information.
Hunters International, a relatively new ransomware-as-a-service group, is believed to be behind the attack. The company has not commented on the situation so far.
Tata Technologies, which provides product engineering and research and development services to automotive, aerospace equipment makers, and engineering companies across 27 countries, disclosed the ransomware attack in late January. However, at that time, it did not confirm whether any data had been stolen or what type of information may have been compromised.
The leaked data appears to be a massive collection of documents, including Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, and PDF files, which cumulatively total about 1.4 terabytes in size. It is unclear at this time if the leaked data is related to the previously disclosed ransomware attack.
As the company has not commented on the situation, it remains unclear what actions they will take to address the breach.
