Tomorrowland Death: Canadian Woman Falls Ill and Later Dies After First Day of 2025 Festival
A 35-year-old Canadian woman tragically passed away after attending the first day of Tomorrowland 2025, according to a statement provided by the festival’s spokesperson Debby Wilmsen. The female attendee reportedly became unwell on the festival grounds on July 18 and received immediate first aid before being transferred to the University Hospital of Antwerp for further medical care.
Sadly, the woman succumbed to her illness the following morning (July 19), with the Tomorrowland team expressing their condolences to her family, friends, and loved ones. The Antwerp Public Prosecutor’s Office is currently investigating the cause of death, promising to provide further updates as more information becomes available.
This unfortunate incident follows a series of unsettling events surrounding the festival, including a devastating fire that destroyed the mainstage on July 16. Thankfully, no one was injured during the blaze, and festival staff managed to clear the area in time for the event’s opening day, constructing an alternative stage using borrowed equipment from Metallica’s M72 world tour, alongside collaborations with regular partners like Pixel Screen, Stageco and Prismax.
The second weekend of Tomorrowland 2025 is set to begin on July 25.
