Ripple CTO Highlights Key User Profits From Ripple Asset Tokenization
In a recent response, Ripple’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Bradley Schwartz has emphasized the importance of the XRP token in the company’s operations. His comments come in response to a member of the community who questioned the utility of the XRP token based on the fact that On-Demand Liquidity (ODL), Ripple’s flagship product, can function without it.
According to Schwartz, Ripple aspired to give its customers the best experience possible, which would not necessarily involve relying solely on XRP. “That would give us the best ability to attract customers and provide them a great experience,” he explained.
In his statement, Schwartz also hinted at the possibility of offering an XRP-only system in the future if Ripple sees fit to do so. However, this is currently not a priority for the company, with its focus shifting towards Ripple Payments Direct (RPD).
Schwartz’s comments underscore the significance of XRP as a vital component in Ripple’s ecosystem. He believes that asking other people to use certain technology simply because it’s preferred by the company isn’t sufficient.
Ripple continues to experience increased momentum globally, having recently secured a crucial license in the UAE, enabling the company to offer regulated payments.
