Matt Rife, the youngest comedian to sell out Madison Square Garden, is not only dominating the comedy scene but also exploring new creative avenues. In a recent interview with Billboard, Rife opened up about his future plans, including his passion for film and television.
Currently, he’s set to star in an upcoming movie alongside Owen Wilson, which he describes as a “wild film experience.” He plays Owen’s coworker who helps him find his lost son. When asked about the music industry, Rife revealed that he’s been listening to a lot of Red Clay Strays, Sam Barber (a 22-year-old kid from Montana), Zach Bryan, Morgan Wallen, Tyler Childers, and Waylon Wyatt. He also praised J. Cole as his all-time favorite artist.
As for the future of stand-up comedy, Rife emphasized that he won’t stop performing until he dies. However, he’s considering scaling back to only do shows whenever he feels like it, while focusing more on acting and other creative pursuits.
