Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) has spoken out about the negative reactions he receives from some in the music industry and beyond. In a recent interview with People, the rapper-turned-rocker shared his thoughts on why he believes these individuals are actually not genuine haters, but rather “conformists” who pretend to dislike him simply to fit in.
“I’ve let it go completely,” MGK said about the negativity he receives from others. “I think the hate for me has become so pop culture that it’s almost like that’s automatically what you say to fit in.”
The artist, born Colson Baker and formerly known as Machine Gun Kelly, emphasized that these individuals are not actual fans of music or artists, but rather simply try to conform with the crowd by expressing negative opinions about him.
“I’ve realized they’re the conformists,” MGK said. “That s–t doesn’t even mean anything to me.”
MGK also pointed out that he often receives criticism from men who are supposedly unhappy with his music choices and fashion sense.
