Tether Revises Wind-Down Strategy for Omni, Bitcoin Cash SLP, Kusama, EOS, and Algorand
Tether has revised its plans to discontinue support for several legacy blockchain networks. The company will no longer provide direct USDT issuance and redemption services on Omni Layer, Bitcoin Cash SLP, Kusama, EOS, and Algorand.
Although the wind-down strategy remains in place, users will still be able to transfer tokens between wallets on these networks. However, the company has stopped providing official support for these tokens, which was previously set to cease on September 1, 2025.
Tether’s decision follows a thorough review of blockchain usage data and market demand. The company has chosen to redirect its resources towards more active, scalable, and widely used networks.
