Title: No. 9 LSU Earns Hard-Fought Road Victory After Upsetting No. 4 Clemson
In a thrilling contest, the No. 9 LSU Tigers have emerged victorious in their clash against the No. 4 Clemson Tigers on Saturday night. The road team put up a strong defensive effort to claim a hard-fought 17-10 win.
The game’s early stages saw both teams struggle to find their footing on offense, with four punts and one fumble taking place within the first seven drives. The second half saw Clemson find its rhythm and embark on a lengthy drive that ultimately culminated in their sole touchdown of the evening. LSU responded with a drive of their own, but unfortunately, they lost a fumble just prior to halftime.
Clemson missed an early field goal attempt in the second half, allowing LSU to capitalize and tie the game at 10-10. Momentum seemed to swing in favor of the Tigers from Baton Rouge as they intercepted Cade Klubnik and found Zavion Thomas for the go-ahead score. However, the ball was not maintained through the catch, resulting in an incomplete play.
Following this crucial stop, LSU’s Garrett Nussmeier went on to complete 28 of his 38 passes for a total of 230 yards. Cade Klubnik, on the other hand, had a relatively lackluster performance, completing just 19 out of his 38 attempts while contributing no rushing yards.
Clemson now looks forward to their next match-up against Troy, while LSU will welcome Louisiana Tech into Baton Rouge for their upcoming contest.
