WASPI Women Slam Labour for ‘Broken Promises’ as They Miss Out on Compensation
A group of state pension age women have expressed their outrage towards Labour for breaking promises and failing to provide compensation, leaving them without thousands of pounds in benefits. The WASPI (Women Against State Pension Inequality) campaign has been fighting for justice after the government’s decision to increase state pension age.
The women, who were originally promised a certain retirement age but had it suddenly changed by the 2011 Pensions Act, have been left feeling betrayed and frustrated. They claim that Labour’s broken promises have put them “in the firing line” and are now being denied up to £2,950 in compensation each.
“We are not just angry, we’re devastated,” said a spokesperson for WASPI. “Labour made promises before the election that they would address our concerns and provide compensation, but it seems like another broken promise from this government.”
The WASPI campaign has been calling for fairness and justice for these women who have had their retirement plans shattered. They claim that the original agreement to increase state pension age was unfair and unjust, leaving many without a secure financial future.
“We are not asking for special treatment; we just want what was promised to us,” the spokesperson added. “We will continue to fight for our rights until justice is served.”
It’s clear that the WASPI women have had enough of broken promises and are demanding action from the government.
