WeTransfer’s free plan now has a monthly limit of 10 transfers
File transfer service WeTransfer is implementing changes to its pricing structure and policy. In a surprising move, the company will now impose a monthly limit of 10 transfers on its free plan. This change comes as part of a larger overhaul of the platform.
As part of this change, WeTransfer has also added some new features to its free plan. The free plan now allows users to transfer files up to 3GB in size, and provides unlimited collaborative folders and reviews. Additionally, all transfers will be password protected. This comes as a significant upgrade for users who were previously limited by the previous file size restriction.
In related news, WeTransfer has also introduced two new paid plans: WeTransfer Starter and WeTransfer Ultimate. The starter plan costs $6.99 per month and offers an increased file transfer limit of 300GB, in addition to all the features of the free plan. On the other hand, the WeTransfer Ultimate plan now bundles all benefits for a price of $25 per month.
It’s worth noting that these changes come after WeTransfer was acquired by Italy-based Bending Spoons in July. The acquisition has led to significant restructuring within the company, with 75% of its staff being cut in September.

I’ve been using WT fir several years and found it very helpful in my photography business.
However, the new plans have meant that, either I pay the same as I have been but take a very significant drop in service, or, I retain my current service but pay £125 extra for the privilege.
Just can’t justify that when others are offering a similar plan to my current (with a similar price).
At leat other companies will be able to fill the gap left by WT.
